06.27.22

Steel Magnolias, an all-volunteer Long Beach-based organization, will host its annual Signature Event, Five-Alarm Fundraiser, on July 31 from 5-8 p.m. at the Los Angeles County Fire Museum in downtown Bellflower. Tickets are $125 per person ($1000 for a table of 8) or $175 for a VIP ticket ($1400 for a table of 8) which includes a pre-event hosted cocktail hour from 4-5 p.m. and other privileges.  The dress is strictly Sunday Funday casual. Tickets and tables are on sale now at thesteelmagnolias.org.

Steel Magnolias Five-Alarm Fundraiser promises to sizzle with guest bartenders, including Bob Goen, former co-host of Entertainment Tonight; Jeff Severson, former NFL player; and Susie Atwood, Olympian, and local businesswoman. VIP guests will enjoy a special 60-minute alfresco cocktail party, early access to the Los Angeles County Fire Museum exhibits featuring a static display of vintage fire trucks and emergency vehicles, opportunities to bid on VIP-only auction itemspreferred parking, and more. All guests will have an opportunity to bid on live and silent auction items featuring an abundance of travel and lifestyle experiences.

Since its inception in 1999, Steel Magnolias has raised roughly $6 million for the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center at Children’s and Women’s Hospital, which serves children with behavior and development challenges such as autism and Fragile X Syndrome.  The center is located on the campus of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center but serves children throughout Southern California.  Because Steel Magnolias has no paid staff or brick-and-mortar offices, nearly all proceeds raised from the Five-Alarm Fundraiser will benefit the cause.
